Complementary Treatments vs Alternative Treatments vs Integrative Treatments, as defined by National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH).
Complementary -non-mainstream practice used together with conventional medicine.
Alternative -non-mainstream practice used in place of conventional medicine.
Integrative -bringing conventional and complementary approaches together in a coordinated way.
    For example:
“Integrative Approaches for Pain Management for Military Personnel and Veterans” -Cancer treatment centers with integrative health care programs may offer services such as acupuncture and meditation to help manage symptoms and side effects for patients who are receiving conventional cancer treatment.
“Integrative Approaches and Health-Related Behaviors” -Healthy behaviors, such as eating right, getting enough physical activity, managing stress, and not smoking can reduce the risk of developing serious diseases.
