Surprise finding could lead to new MS treatments: Researchers identify the overabundance of a specific protein in the brain of people who have MS; next step is to figure out the protein's role and possibly develop therapies. — ScienceDailyA discovery is providing hope of a new therapeutic target in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients that could one day be used to prevent the symptoms and progression of the disease. By removing a protein called calnexin in mice, researchers found the mice were provided with full protection from the mouse model of MS — known as experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE).
